Welcome

Thank you for stopping by to perv on my blog, as I fight myself to change my old habits and make new ones to get fit. I don't get it right all the time, but I'm still here and I'm still working at it.

Weekend Warrior! (and a recipe)

I slept like a dead thing last night. I was sooo bloody tired. I am a bit stiff today, but not too bad all considered. I got up - and started out on the wrong foot.

BF - 1 pot yogurt, 3 hand fulls Goldfish (who knows...once I started I couldn't stop...half a bag?), and 6 stone wheat crackers with 1 tsp almond butter. No surprise I had no more fruit in the house, no cottage cheese and all out of oatmeal. :(
Good work Mrs.K. I did at least drink some water and then sat down to read some blogs and check some online shopping.

Decided that I would skip the gym and instead go for a coffee and a walk in the boutique area. ...I worked hard yesterday, I'm stiff, I just got cleaned up, I don't need to go to the gym right? This "coffee & walk" idea is actually a thinly veiled attempt at getting me as close to pastries as humanly possible, since if I'm there I might as well have one, right!! ARG.

I put on my sweats and packed up my gym clothes and got the hell outa the house before anything else happened that would give me one more reason not to do this. No surprise, once I was at the gym I was happy and enjoyed myself. I did do less weights then usual, but I went, so I'm going to proclaim a WIN on that one.

Elliptical - 17.5min (thank you for TV on the machines...I had to watch the end of that program)
Leg Press - w/u 195 x 10 - 1s 255 x 6 r. 3s 295 x6
Calf raises- 195 x10, 1s x 255 x 10r, 3s x 295 x 10r
Lat Pull downs - w/u 70x10- 2r 100x 6r, 2r 90x 6r
Bicep curls - 5s 20lbs x6r
Military Press (on the ball) - w/u 20 x10 - 4s 20 x 6r
Chest Press(on the ball) - 5s 20 x 6r
Abs - 5 x 20r various crunches.

Post workout I felt great. I have to keep reminding myself. THIS FEELS GREAT!
I did stop and get a coffee (1/2 sweet skim milk little bit of heaven), and a small banana bread. I went, all happy energized and full of caffeine to the grocery store and stocked up for on all the good things that I could find. Sadly, produce is starting to be pretty unappealing at this time of year. But I managed to get some nice looking fruits and veg for the next few days. Here is a little peek!

Tonight, I'm making the easiest great dinner side that I LOVE.
Greek stuff Peppers:
4 large bell peppers (typically I use 6)
1 (15-ounce) can cannelloni beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup (4 ounces) crumbled feta
1/2 cup couscous
4 scallions, white and green parts separated, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
Lemon wedges, for serving

Slice off tops of peppers just below stem. Discard stems. Chop up the pepper shoulder that you just removed, and place in a medium bowl. Remove ribs and seeds from peppers. Add beans, feta, couscous (dry), scallion, garlic, and oregano to bowl with pepper tops. Season with salt and pepper and toss to combine; Stuff peppers with bean mixture. (YES, its that easy, - cut and stuff!)

Preheat to 350 degrees. Place peppers upright in a oven proof container with a tight-fitting lid. Add 1 cup water, cover, and bake until peppers are tender, about 1 hour. Sprinkle peppers with scallion greens; serve with lemon wedges.

I am an absolute sucker for pics of people's fridge contents! And groceries...and meals. Not that I'm hinting or anything :)
Good for you for hitting the gym when temptation was trying to lure you away! You seem to be very strong ~~ you can lift alot of weight.

I know what you mean!!! I love love love to perv on what other bloggers are posting in thier pictures! (like yours with all your food pics!)

As for the weights, yep, I'm a strong one! (RAWR). I was a "fat-lete" for many years and weight lifting was a big part of our training. I stopped playing my sport 2 years ago... and look at me now! lol I put on around 40-50lbs in that time.

I'm hoping that getting back into lifting will help me out of this mess that I've made with my body...along with changin my eating habits. Thats the killer for me, I still try to eat like I'm working out three times a day.

Slow and steady though!
