Welcome

Thank you for stopping by to perv on my blog, as I fight myself to change my old habits and make new ones to get fit. I don't get it right all the time, but I'm still here and I'm still working at it.

Tamzins Double Dog Dare You Ticker!

My homage to the 14lbs that I lost on Allan’s DDDY Challenges. A watering can for the vast oceans of water that I have learned to drink and love every day.

Frightening Weigh In

Sadly, this is not a halloween scare, nor is a 1st of April joke. Todays scale showed a weeks worth of poor chioces.

294lbs, which is a gain of 6lbs.

If you want to see my reasons/excuses go here. But the real reason is that I've eaten out this week 5 times. And not the healthy stuff either.

My bowels are bunged up, my body is retaining water, I'm puffy and struggled to get my rings on today. So... no great revelation. Follow the right path and don't let daily indulgences start getting in the way of progress.

I'm also pre-period, which is hard. I read a lot of stuff at Lyn on Escape from Obesity and she has been tracking her emotions and cravings with her cycle for some time now. I'm about to do the same. Seems that this last week is always bad for me and once i indulge once.. the snowball effect that has on my eating is huge.

Regardless, my eating habits are slipping and I'm battening down the hatches for this week.

More water, better mental rehearsing, and constant vigilance! That is what this week will be all about.

DDDY challenge - Todays Food

Today is going well. I’m very pleased with my water intake. Its 2pm here and I will be done my third liter of water by the time I’m done typing and posting this. At lunch I made a plan, looked at the numbers and made my decision on dinner. I have it written on a sticky note in my wallet so that I don’t forget. The plan means that tonight at dinner I will eat 2 out of 3 grilled chicken tacos on corn tortillas, also leaving all the rice and beans on my plate. I can have 5 chips with salsa to start, and of course. Water.

I’m having my favorite afternoon snack, and this one is filling! It’s the My Fit Foods Steele cut oatmeal with walnuts and blackberries. I always add an extra fruit to it (usually peaches) but today it’s a banana. We are not going to be able to go out for dinner until 7.30. So I’m going to eat my snack an hour later than usual so that I don’t go home and start wanting to graze/snack.

I am slightly disappointed in my 1lb loss this week – even though I know rationally, any other week prior to the last two it would have been a 4 or 5lb gain with the path that I am on. There, typing it out is much better. SEE SELF... that is a HUGE victory!!!

Losing is losing. Last week I had a huge number because I cut my calories so drastically, and I had been over indulging SO badly. This week is steady progress even with my less than good for me foods. Salty salty salty. No wonder I'm plowing through the water today.

So, the end of this week and coming weekend I’m going to really enjoy my food and eat my calories and get moving a little more. I’m quite sure that its going to be a huge difference. I’m already excited for the phase 2 of Allan’s DDDY challenge.

Here is today.

BS: 1 (for a small but important rant)

Today was good, work was busy. I felt like I was sucking hind teat all day. Need to get some more sleep tonight, and I'm going to have a great long hot bath after I watch Biggest Loser. Husband is away with work tonight, so I will have lots of room to spread out in bed tonight.

Tomorrow is blood donation day, so I'm likely going to go over on my calories as I'm going to need some juice to get me going. I'm stopping to get some POM tomorrow. I love that stuff and its not too bad for you.

Ahhhhhhhh. Time for dinner!!

BNS Ravioli

Very Productive Saturday.

Managed to do a LOT of clearing up today. My hubby is a pack rat and it drives me nuts... probably as nuts as it makes him watching me throw stuff out. HAHA!

Ate very well today, quite pleased with myself. Finished off the day with a trip to the grocery store where I caved and got a package of Pretzel M&M's. They are my default treat. 150 calories, crunchy, sweet, chocolate...perfect. I made myself eat them one at a time...instead of dumping the bag into my waiting gob and eating the lot in about 2.2 seconds.

Tonight's dinner I crafted from the Clean Eating magazine. Butternut Squash Ravioli. Well. more like BNS wontons, as you use wonton wrappers for the "pasta". They were amazing, however I'm a huge fan of squash.

  • Roast/Nuke (for 10min if you are me and too hungry to wait for 40min of roasting)
  • Add 1.2 bag of chopped spinach
  • Sauteed (in pam lite) small onion
  • Add salt pepper and nutmeg to taste
  • Mix it all together
  • Fold a Tbsp on that into a premade wonton, wet edge, squeeze together and done.

There were 52 in the package. About 11 died trying to make it through the cooking process...exploded/ripped etc. They cook in boiling water for about 3 min.

  • For the sauce, I cooked a hot Italian sausage (teehee), chopped that into some premade herb&garlic pasta sauce (so lazy!).
  • The side was steamed peas.
I was sooooooo GOOD! Really really yummy.

Todays food:

MFF Oatmeal
Blackberry Liberte
1 venti coffee & cream
MFF Killa Chili
4 Magic Pops
MFF Apple Pancakes (shared with the man)
Half an orange
Kashi Pumpkin Pecan bar
Pretzel M&M's
3/4c Marinara w/ sausage (322.5)
15 BNS Raviolis (152)
1/2c peas

Totals:
Calories 2034.5
Fats: 70.4
Carbs: 456.3
Proteins:123.3

Bit of a carbo-bomb day, but yesterday I was low on them. Still under my calories by 65, but...I'm stuffed! Early to bed. Tomorrow I'm planning a big walk!!!!

Wednesday FULL of WIN!

I started to fade today...and had thoughts of burgers dancing through my head....so just before lunch and I did this:

From: T--------- -------
Sent: Wednesday, March 17, 2010 11:02 AM
To: T--------- -------
Subject: TODAY I WILL

NOT GET A FATTY LUNCH. I will eat the lunch that I have here.
Because I’m better than fat.
Love Me~

Ate my lunch and it was great (BNS mac&cheese, lemon yogurt and a plum). This afternoon I considered getting a treat - and instead ate my Coconut Larabar. AlsoYum.

After work I had to pick up some bits for dinner.... and that put me right in the middle of one of my worst areas...The Grocery store - all by myself...the perfect time to get chocolate so that I can eat it in the car and NO ONE KNOWS.... (but me - and all of you of course). Grocery stores are a terrible place for me - those ROWS of chocolate bars while you are standing there checking out, alone in the car to scarf down the chocolate like a starving wolf....

I managed to resist!~ I bought two packs of Extra gum instead (a la Biggest Looser). Woot!

However, ice cream was in the basket.

:( NOT GOOD...not good at all!!

I drove home thinking about the ice cream...and when I got home I put it in the freezer - telling myself that I would have some tonight and then throw the rest out. Then 15min later I went into the kitchen, took it out of the freezer and.... I threw it in the garbage. $5.00 is not worth me eating 1,000+ calories of ice cream. So right NOW there is a tub of ice cream melting in my garbage! YAY!!

Also.... my main surprise today was my daily Weight In. I hopped up on the scales and expected to see something other than this:

290.6lbs

No change from yesterday, that was a very nice surprise!

Thirsty

RIGHT NOW... I have not had any water today!!! OMG.... I am getting up and getting water before I go any further with my day. Ahh. Much better.

Warning: This Post is a collection of random shittery.

Food:

This morning I was gripped by the pancake monster - and I was trying to think of some ways that I could work "healthy" & "pancake" together to justify getting pancakes (and syrup) for breakfast. I even started to wash the pan to cook them in, and then I woke up and got out my Red Mill 10 grain hot breakfast cereal, put in some oats, and then stuck that it the nuker for 4 minutes with water! Viola!!! Added a small banana, 1 T of natural peanut butter and 1 T of honey and breakfast was completed. I'm only just starting to get hungry now.

Lunch today is going to be toasted open faced mozz & tomato sandwiches on my double fibre bread with Amys Tomato Bisque soup, with a couple of dill pickles. If you have not tried Amys Tomato Bisque soup, you are missing out! It is outstanding!

Soreness:

I woke up this morning and by the gawds was I sore from yesterdays raking adventure!!! I could ACTUALLY feel an abdominal muscle!! (they are there...somewhere deep in there). I am feeling good though, well worn out and my foot is getting better. I have my acuball-mini out for some stretching.

Activities:

Looking for things to do yesterday I found a couple of organizations that do group hikes in Houston/Texas area. I have a few leads on some weekend activities that will get us up and out of the house.

I'm also thinking about perhaps joining a Dragon boating group. Not too sure on that one yet. I still have no job, so that limits me, as I refuse to buy a car before I get a pay cheque... and of course, no disposable cash without income. So there might be some waiting on that. I'm really missing a social/physical life that I got from sports.

Exercise:

Today I will either 1. go for a walk or 2. go to the gym. Step class is cancelled for the holidays, so that is out. But I will get in something today. I may even attempt my yoga dvd again!

Now, I have had over 1liter of water!!!! and my next task is to start perving on your blogs to see how everyone else is doing. I'm still formulating my plan on what to do about my massive weight gain! I should be dusting off my old excel spreadsheet for food tracking very soon and getting started back into that for one!

Two Hundred and Ninty Seven

297...red balloons?
297...beers on the wall?
297...minutes until blast off?
297...lbs that I now weigh

Right... yesterday I started a post that was all... boo hoo and waaaa and I think I'm fatter and why is life so hard and *BARF* I never finished or posted it.

WHY, you ask??! Because I already knew the answer to that question, and the answer is YES... YES I AM FATTER.

Why? I have asked myself! Because I lack control- scratch that - because I do not take responsibility over what I eat, how much I am eating and combining that with the fact that I get VERY LITTLE exercise. In fact, moving to Houston has cut my general activity by 90%.

I used to walk to and from work, up and down the stairs at the office... maybe only 2 or 3 flights a day, but that is still 100% more then I am getting now. I would get groceries and carry them home, walk on the river on weekends and occasionally get to the gym.

Now... I sit all day on my ever increasing ass, grazing from the fridge and pantry as my boredom and general malaise dictates (which is frequent) as well as eating too much and too many of the wrong things. There have been oranges in the fridge for a week and I have eaten one! Not one a day, but one in a week. I will eat a jar of salted peanuts in 3 days. Why.... because there are peanuts and crackers and soup and bisquick to be made into yummy thing that "make me feel better".

Well... they aren't doing much to help my mood right now.

Today I bought a scale.

I didn't want to - because weighing in at the gym and telling myself that it was wrong was a lot more pleasant on the ego then stepping onto my new scale and seeing the number 297.8 come up.

I have now reached an all new high of 297.8lbs. So there you go... I have increased my maximum weight just over 13months ago from 281 to 297.8lbs. I guess I am going to have to take some new and more horrific pictures to adorn the top of my blog since those pictures are now my some 16lbs LIGHTER then the here and now. OMG that is depressing.

Beautiful, a gain of 16.8lbs.

In the last two months I have also noted that I have begun to have acid reflux. Coincidence... I think not.

Now I will have to become more accountable. Other then that. I just don't know what I'm going to do yet.

daily goals&food and some more thoughts

Goals:
1. Done. banana eaten
2. Done. walked to office!
3. Done. Bed at 11pm
4. n/a
5. Done. 7 from the knees!

Food:
Bfast1 - Banana
Bfast2 - 1 pot yogurt, 1 coffee w/ cream
Snack 1 - 2 clementines
Snack2 - 1pot orange jello (post surgery left overs), coffee w/ cream
Lunch - 1 whole wheat wrap, 1 laughing cow cheese, 1T mustard, 2 slice turkey, 1c greens, 1/2c sprouts. 1 diet coke, 1 sm bag of sweet potato chips, 1 california roll (6 pieces).
Snack4 - 8 chocolate covered almonds, 4 chocolate turtles.
Snack5 - 7 strawberries, 2x coffee w/cream
Snack 6 - 2 slices turky, 3 laughing cow cheese
Dinner -2 small pork loin, 2T mint jelly, 1c asparagus, 1c spinach, 2 med baked sweet potato. This...was too much food, but I went back for more. Yes I did. :(

I wanted to thank justjuliebean for sending me to this blog. I did some reading today and I came across this entry and it really hit home for me today.

The 5 P's of weight loss.

Practice - remember the "Moonlight Sonata" example. We get better at the things we work on. I consider this to be the most important "P."
Persistence - just keep going. We lose weight when we just keep keepin' on, no matter what, no matter how badly our day, or week, or month has gone.
Progress - expect to make progress over time, as you practice and persist. Not necessarily immediately . . . remember that our bodies have their own wisdom. Don't rush the process. After all, you're going to be on this program (or something much like it) the rest of your life, if you want to keep the weight off.
Patience - what I said about progress over time, double. Don't be in a hurry. You'll get there. I took 2.5 years to finally get to goal. But I'm there now, so the time it took me is totally unimportant. And I got plenty of practice along the way.
Perfection (scratch that) - like I said, fuggedaboudit. Ain't a-gonna happen.

Rude awakening Weigh In

right... I often wonder how many times I'm going to go through this before the message sinks in...

Weigh In - 273.2lbs
UP 2.4lbs

This morning I didn't have my normal BM, so that is a factor...however this is more of a factor:

Friday - Latte, pudding, mini chocolate bars, latte, cookie, entire bag of terra chips, 2 dinners...
Saturday - Latte & cookie, Pumpkin loaf, bag of full fat microwave popcorn
Sunday - ENTIRE BAG OF TORTOLLIINIS!

Honestly, *shakes head*, is it a surprise anymore that the seemingly small accumulations of bad eating add up like this? REALLY TAMZIN. How can you think that daily cookies and chocolates are going to be cancelled out by some walking. Its not going to happen.

The bodies annoying tendency to put on weigh easier then shedding it is an annoying FACT. Its a fact. We are predisposed to adding fat.

Some other facts.... I am not working out hard enough to eat cookies and lattes daily.

more later.

Yoga is easy *scoffs*

Yeah...Riiiiiiiight. That's what I thought before this first ashtunga (pose style) beginners class. It was bloody hard work! Not the "bring your blanket" Sunday yoga by any stretch.

Downward Facing Dog.... easy! This is "rest position" in all the books and shit. Well let me tell you - but the end I was having a hard time staying in the child's pose...which is about as close to laying face down as you can get! My wrists! My knees!! My gawd! No wonder yoga people look like they do. This should be interesting to say the least. I'm pretty much dying right now. My arms where shaking.

Sadly - there were a number of moves where my belly was in the way...I imagine that it will be for some time as I am neither very flexible, and that is where most of my fat hangs. I feel for the people who might have had to look upon that travesty this evening. But as our lady said to us, "this is not a competition, you have to honor your body for the work it did today so that it can be a better body next time". Interesting, I quite liked that thought.

Today was a victorious food day - I passed the McSammich area that is now the "treat place" that is now thankfully far far away from my desk and through a door (finally! out of sight out of mind)... and it was cleared off of all evidence of any McCrimes. I am not surprised - people here are like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

I had a good day of eating - not enough water - trying hard to work on that right now. Work is busy - but not crazy and I'm going to get some good zzzz's in tonight for sure.

I also managed to walk home 1km today as well.

Bfast:
1 pot activia yogurt
1 med banana
V-8 single serving box (50calories! hot damn!)
1 clementine
coffee with cream x2
Lunch (late - 1pm):
Sushi - 3 salmon sushi, 3 tuna sushi, 2 salmon sashimi, 1 tuna sashimi, 1 shrimp roll, 1 avocado California roll with lots of wasabi, soy sauce and pickled ginger.
Snack:
3 clementines (eaten throughout the afternoon)
coffee with cream
Snack1:
4 slices turkey breast
2 triangles laughing cow cheese
...yoga....
Dinner:
5 x oatmeal pancakes
1/2T becel
2T maple syrup

Water.... had 1l at the office today. BAD! I've had just over a liter now at home, so I'm one behind today. Need to get onto that again.

Inching up!

So here they are - my inches for this week. They are up from the last measure, not too big a surprise to me. But I'm also not going to spend a lot of time specifically measuring and remeasuring for "accuracy". I'm going to just slap that puppy on and see what it says. This is still give me a good measure of what is happening.

Total Inches - 324.0 (up 2.6inches)

Neck -15.9, Bust - 47.5, Ribcage - 42.4, Waist - 47.5, Hips - 52, Thigh (L) - 26.8, Thigh (R) - 25.5, Calf (L) - 18.7, Calf (R) - 18.1, Bicep (L) - 14.9, Bicep (R) - 14.7

*sigh* it was good to get that out of the way.

Today's weather has taken a turn for the worse. So I didn't get to walk home like I wanted. I also forgot my "smalls" so I was unable to go to the gym! Tomorrow I'm running on my lunch hour for sure. Tonight, not too sure what I'm going to do. Might be some push ups and crunches.

I also forgot to get batteries at the grocery story yesterday - so piccies will have to wait for next week (then I'll be down my first 10lbs and want to take one anyway!)

Another Average day

Once again too much coffee at the office, not enough greens and veggies and fibre.

We have a new coffee machine and I think the novelty of getting a latte/cappichino is too much for me to resist! The only good thing is that they are damn small. About 5oz I would say. Also a spell of frugality has overtaken me and I did a calculation that I was spending over $100 a month on coffee. THAT.IS.NOT.ACCEPTABLE.

I didn't get in enough water at the office, but I'm doing my best now. However it was treat day and I did eat 2 mini Cinnamon buns. Not great.

Bfast:
1 oatmeal pancake
Snack1:
Coffee (lattes) x 4
Lunch:
1c BNS mac&cheese
1c mixed vegges and 1/2 tsp butter
Snack:
2 Cinnamon buns
office latte
Dinner:
4x oatmeal pancakes
1c raspberries
1T becel

So today's food has been pretty darn beige. Nary an apple, orange or clementine to be seen. Lunch was great - squash, green veg, whole wheat noodles, but I need to get some more veggies and good stuff in me. I'm just so not jazzed about eating salad right now. Not too sure what it is, but I have all the good makings in the fridge, but I just don't want to eat it.

Other then that - the "pancakes" are not the healthiest thing you can have - but not terrible. Or so I'm guessing actually.... lets see what the numbers say....

1c Bisquick (480 cal)
1c whole oats (480 cal)
1/2c egg whites (60 cal)
1c almond milk (40 cal)
2T ground flax seeds (60 cal)

This makes 6 pretty substantial pancakes. So that's 1120 cal / 6 pancakes = 187cal per.
little Pam spray in the pan and a couple of minutes of stove top work and they are done.

Well - I have to admit I thought that it would be a bit worse then that. :) Okay - time to drink the last of my water and head to bed!!

50/50 is not good enough

I just updated my weight on the sidebar(inches will be done tonight).... and this is an all new fail for me. Three weeks in a row gaining. Totally.Brutal.

Of the 14weeks that I've been blogging, 50% of the time my weight has gone down and 50% of the time my weight has gone up. The downs are more then the ups, but still, that just not good enough.

In 14weeks I could have healthily lost 28lbs, with an average of 2lbs a week - which is both reasonable, realistic and manageable. That nearly 30lbs!! COME ON TAMZIN... pull your head out of the feed bag!!

Right now I'm averaging a loss of .55 lbs a week. Not that this is bad is still moving in the right direction, but holy hell I could be doing miles better. I'm trying to imagine what 28lbs less would be like right now. It would be pretty effing sweet to be 25lbs lighter....instead of 7lbs.

Time to get goal setting again and start getting my lists... I also need to get my gym gear in a bag and to the office so that I can get in my lunchtime workouts again.

If I am going to lose 100lbs, then I'm going to have to start working a LOT harder then this.

Treat day....or is it?

Today is Wednesday aka at my office as "treat day". However, there has been no treat sightings yet... occasionally this means that someone lazy has forgotten is is bringing it later, but it is getting close to lunch and Nada. I'm thinking that today I'm going to escape my typically hellish afternoon.

Our office has been soliciting ideas from people on how to cut costs given the current economic conditions, I am thinking that I will suggest cutting out the treat day (as you can spend up to $120 and put it on your expenses to the company) so that would save them $480 a month, 5,760 a year as well as being healthy conscious so that people do not have cake and donuts to stuff themselves with every week. No joke, I put on a solid 20lbs once I started working here.

I don't partake in the treats as often or with as much vigor as I used to, although occasionally I still do have one. But eliminating the temptation would be nice.

Today has been bad for water and food. I was out of bed late, got to work late, and didn't fill up my bottle when I got in. Bad Habit. If there is no water, I just don't drink it. I've also taken to putting a 500ml bottle of water on the bathroom counter at night and my goal is to drink that all every morning while getting ready to go. So far its been (surprisingly) easy. Access is everything I suppose.

Okay, no home brought lunch today... so I'm going to get some food court sushi... wish me luck!

oops! late one

Sunday Running!

8am rolled around pretty darn early for me, given my usual standard of sleeping on weekends. I know that I am going to be shattered tonight early since I didn't sleep well or for very long last night. BUT... I still got up and went to my run. YAY!

It was cool but the sky was blue already. My "group" was waiting for me when I arrived (bad me, I won't be late again I hate keeping people waiting) and we set out. 10 sets of 1min jogging and 2 minutes walking. With 2min of walking to start and finishing with about 10min of walking to our starting point. It was once again, quite enjoyable.

Katie, I'm not too sure where all these places are - but I run (and they have walking clinics too) through a store called The Running Room. They have a great website and are all over Canada and the US. The program is a Learn2Run - giving us the slow start, basics of care for your body, equipment and of course, a person to run you who keeps time and motivates everyone to keep going. I know that there are other similar things through other running stores, you should have a look in your area!

Our "instructor" is a 40year old lady who has been recovering from a massive car wreck in which she significant brain injury. She was telling us today about it on her run - it was inspirational to say the least. She had a 4 year old and 1 year old twins when she was hit on the hwy (without then in the car thank goodness) and was in a coma for 2 weeks. She then had to say in hospital for close to a year. She has weakness on her left side and had trouble with processing speech and speaking quickly, but is back in school and is totally mentally aware, not mentally slow, but slower speech.

Here is the kicker.... She is running her first half marathon in 3 weeks.

Wow. ummmmm My complains about being fat and not being able to run are pretty darn weak compared with recovering from something like that. She is a darling, very supportive and really keen to help everyone start on their running journey. She talked about how it helped her get motivated, move better. I really don't have any excuse that can stand up next to that.

The philosophy of their running is this. If you can not hold a conversation (slightly breathy) then you are running TOO HARD and you need to SLOW DOWN! I like that a lot. We also never leave anyone behind, if you are in front when the min run is done you walk back to the last person (although most of us never get that far ahead). The instructor runs with the slowest person so you are never alone running behind. Its a very supportive atmosphere that is conducive to enjoyment and the focus is on personal achievement instead of racing or trying to beat a time or other such nonsense.

Also, I can't believe how great I feel today, physically good, but also calm and really happy.

I bought groceries after the run and have the laundry half started/finished. I heaved all the food in the fridge when I got home (see picture). I'm going to be cooking and sorting into containers later into my little ziplocks and baggies, I'll post a post-organization fridge piccie too (for all you Fridge-P0rn loving perverts out there!)

1. Run. DONE - 3km
2. Groceries - DONE
3. Return movies - DONE (I even walked although I got another coffee!)
4. Clean kitchen
5. Laundry
6. Cooking and organizing food for lunches
7. Reading & Relaxing

Tena - becel is a marg here in Canada, not too sure if you can get it in the US. This is really quite nice actually. The link is to the one that I use (I have the lite one too) - it has extra virgin olive oil in it! Yum!

Jiggly Butt

Last Friday was my first "real" run outside and it was pretty darn good actually. I did feel a little like the class clown, I have to remind myself not to be too loud in our group sessions pre-run. lol I got the evils from the instructor! oops!

We ran 1min segments and walked for 2minutes between 7 times and covered 3km. I'm not panting, sweating or heaving by any stretch, this is a very gentle slow moving course that builds gradually, but its still great for the mind and the body. I really wanted to start off slow and enjoy myself! Which I am.

Tonight's run was a "training" run and our little band of runners met up and did our 7 sets of "1 and 2's" with some walking for warm up and cool down at either end. I have to say, it was perhaps the most pleasant way to end a day of work. Plus its nicer to be in a group of slow moving "runner" so that you don't stand out all alone with people zipping by you. Ah, safety in numbers. :) Plus I hid in the middle so that no one running up on us can see my jiggly butt!

Food today was 50/50.

Bfast:
1c almond milk
1med coffee with cream
1 protein powder, flax seed and 1/2c whole oats

Lunch (early at 11.40am):
starter green salad (lovely mix) with 1T blue cheese dressing
1 burger with fries
Snack1:
1 protein bar (post run)
Dinner:
large bowl mixed greens
1/2 green apple
3oz Stilton
2T red onion
6oz turkey breast
6 Raincoast Crisps (cranberry & pecan)
Snack2:
unsure....we'll see if I need anything tonight or not.

I have to say that pre-lunch I was hungry - but I didn't even feel like nibbling on anything this afternoon after my big lunch. Not even before my run. YAY!

Water - still not great 1.5L so far and I need to get another at least 1L in me before bed.

Today was also TREAT DAY at the office. I wasn't even remotely tempted... that was a total non-scale victory for me. I didn't go in and ogle the donuts, sniff them, take one and throw it out. In fact, I got the "treats are here" email and promptly forgot all about it.

Not a bad mid-week day. Tomorrow...packed lunch and MORE WATER.

Back in the groove!

My little holiday passed in an eye blink and here I am back in working land and hating life! Today was a nightmare and it made me wonder why the hell I even went away on holidays if this is what its going to be like on return! It really should be called a work deferral program and not a holiday. I had to do 3 hours of overtime to get ahead to go away and now I'm staring down the barrel of another 5hours to attempt to get caught up.

Anyhoooo. that's the glass half empty review. The great news is that I had a wonderful rest, got to sleep in, relax and enjoy myself totally. *wink wink nudge nudge* know what I mean! Regardless of my weight... one mans "side show" is another mans "Disneyland"! HAHA!

We actually ate pretty darn well. We made our own breakfasts, did some deli style shopping for rich savory foods and enjoyed them in smaller quantities. Had at least 2 home made meals a day and snacked pretty good.

Dim Sum - the "exotic" stuff like coriander & lime squid, mushrooms wraped in tofu, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce....NO dumplings! Okay... red bean buns for afters! I do love me red bean paste!

Stilton and peppered duck breast salad - home made with fresh greens, and some great cheese and duck from the fine cheese shop. It was lovely - avocado, duck, walnuts, Stilton and apple on greens with oil&vinegar dressing. LURVLEY

Oat pancakes with honey and strawberries - oatmeal, BP2, flax seeds, little bit o flour, eggs whites, almond milk mixed up and straight into the non stick pan. A bit of local honey on top with some fresh strawberries cut on the side. Beautiful.

ButterNutSquash mac&cheese - movie night and comfort food. We even made a special little pot of it with some Stilton in, and a salad of greens and tomato with a green mustard vinaigrette. Total indulgence without a million calories.

I had too many coffee&creams out, I had tim-bits and movie theater popcorn (I KNOW its sooo bad for you, but its sooo damn good), we had sticky buns and noodles too and even a couple of meals with a dessert after. But we split the treats/desserts and I enjoyed it more. I made more thoughtful choices and the hubby was really supportive of eating our own foods and not always requesting the "bad" foods. I bought a small baggies of little candy covered chocolate eggs (yay Easter!) and we split it. It actually struck me as strange since I hadn't bought a store chocolate like that in ...well.... months!

I didn't do great on water - I'm suffering for it now still. We tried, but its harder to think about it when you are not sitting next to a big glass of water all day. But, such is life.

So...now for the numbers. I didn't do my inches and .... I'm not going to (LAZY!....SCARED!!) but I did weight in this morning at 272.2lbs.

That's a .2lbs gain over my holiday. WOOHOOO!!!

I'm really pretty pleased. :) Anyway - tomorrow is a running night and I'll tell ya about my running course when I get in tomorrow.

now....to perv on all the people!!!

Donut Day!

well... its treat day again... donuts and muffins. I looked in the kitchen and ... never even bothered to go in and drool over them. :)

VICTORY!

Its another crazy day as I try to get ahead to go away. I'm swimming against the stream at the moment, and I've not had enough water yet today... going to get some now. That will help a lot.

Tonight after work I'm going to get on the treadmill and sweat it up! Then ... holiday time.

WOOOHOOOO
