I got up this morning (yes it was hard!!).. and got to the gym, did my workout before work...
and I didn't die??
How can this be? **pondering thoughtfully** I was VERY sure that getting up and going to the gym BEFORE work would kill me?
It didn't....My world has been radically altered forever....
All jokes aside, I have to say that there is a lot to be said for the liberating feeling of getting to the office and knowing that your daily workout is taken care of and you are FREE to do whatever you like after work! :)
Eating today was not great. But I got in a lot of water and now, I'm going to bed to sleep on this amazing revelation that I had today. haha

6am is early for me
lets just say that I am not a cheerful bunny in the mornings. I don't know why my husband can be so normal and happy to my grumpy and groggy.
Regardless, we were up, changed and out of the house, at the gym and with 30 min of cardio done all before 7am this morning. I was in the shower, changed, hair did and in the car a full 10min before normal. :)
Which was great - I had enough time to go to My Fit Foods and get my lunches and snacks for the week so that I didn't have to do it on my lunch hour. Instead I got to enjoy my salmon, quinona, and broccoli! DELISH!
Walking this morning was good. 1.5 incline, 2.8-3.0 speed. This week is going to be just walking, but next week I'm going to see about adding in more more jogging!
Day 1 done.

Dizzy
omg these last few weeks have been STUPID busy - dinner, birthday, weekend projects, this that another thing and this and that and then this, did you remember that?
Sweet jebuz. My head is spinning.
July is almost over and I had thought that I would be at least 20lbs lighter by now. I'm not.
I will say this, I've lost a little - and I've NOT GAINED! Lunches are good, I'm trying to get more water (always!) and I'm excited for the coming month for a couple of reasons.
1. Work is starting to level out. As in - I've had 2 months there and I've learned the ropes and starting to get into a groove, which makes work a lot less stressful.
2. Tomorrow - is the start of my 3 times a week morning work out. 6am tomorrow I'll be up and getting my lazy arse over to the gym for 30min. Then home shower and to the office. The husband is in charge of bed times and wake times. Because I am far to unreliable in those 2 areas to ensure that I get us out of bed in time.
3. I've been getting some success, I'm not losing a lot of weight, but my clothes are fitting better and I'm feeling good. I need to capitalize on that and carry on.
4. Its been 10 months since I arrived in the big H. Wow... a year goes by so fast.
Right - the weather here is hellish at best and crushing at worst. I can honestly say that I understand why there are so many people in Houston that are overweight. I totally could not have the same lifestyle here that I had in Canada. I used to walk 5-7km (3-4miles) a day. Its soooo damn hot here that I wouldnt be able to manage that outside.
I feel occationally cramped and sluffed. Always inside, I miss the wind and air... but then I go out the door and its a swamp of humidity that literally makes it hard to breath. If you've never experienced it - its hard to imagine.
Anyway. I also have my birthday coming up next week. 36. Wow. 4 years to 40. So... I've been thinking about that fact and how I have a lot of things that I want to do before then, and that includes shedding this weight. So... I'm going to make some changes.

Saturday fun!
I had a very successful date this morning.... with the gym! :) I did 30min on the treadmill - 2 5min runs, with increasing hte speed each minute. The last minute was as hard as I could go. I was happy and sweaty after and... I'm pleased to report. My butt hurts now. Ha!
Pre-gym bfast was a Powercruch bar. Post gym was a grande iced coffee with cream and a sweetbread from Starbucks
We had a quick lunch at the cafe - I had a Pear and Brie sandwich with watercress, and watermelon gazpacho. Very delish!
The rare Corpse Flower is getting ready to bloom at the Natural Science Museum for the second time in Texas history. So we thought that we would head over and have a look at this momentous occasion.
It wasn't yet blooming, but still impressive. Nearly 6 feet tall!
The sun was perfect for pictures in the butterfly exhibit!
We went over to visit with some friends at the PetSmart Pet adoption day. They do dog fostering. We hung out with pooches, took some for walks and pee breaks and generally pinned for pets. There was a sweet Maine coon kitty that I would go over and get right now if I could. :( Sadly we are not set for pets at the moment.
Stopped at My Fit Foods for an afternoon snack. Breakfast tacos. 3 small corn tortias, egg white, ground turkey and salsa!! So good. Hit the Kroger after for our dinner tonight.
Falafel Waffles again! Tomato, lettuce, home made yogurt-dill-garlic sauce, and falafel mix done up in the waffle iron.
So now I am fed, watered and exercised. Today has been quite the nice day.

Hurray!
We have a birthday dinner to go to this evening. But what I'm looking forward to the most is spending time at the gym this weekend. I hate a date with the treadmill Sat and Sun.

Monday Gym!
Monday our office gave us the day off and I enjoyed it to the max!
Slept til 10
Went to the gym and I did 35min on the treadmill.
5min walking
5min running!
I was very very pleased with myself. Did a variety of inclines and speeds and just made sure that I actually stayed running for the whole 5! Woot!
This week is a busy one - work was crazy today. An extra day off is really just a work deferral program. I expect that tomorrow is going to be the same.
Right... bed time!

Happy 4th of July!!
Today is the first 4th of July that I have spent in the US as a resident Alien! Very fun actually!
We are taking over some wine and having bison burgers and sweet potato fries with fries on the BBQ this evening and will watch the fireworks and comfort the poor doggies as they freak out!

Saturday Gym Session done
Had to get up early this morning to pick up my hubby from the car rental place - he had to have the work car back at 9am! Its right near the gym so we went straight there!
Nice to get our work out in early and over in the day. I have housework and some fun crafty stuff to do today. I may try to get outside for a walk as well - feeling like being active.
Regardless - I did 30min on the treadmill and the last 5min were jogging! Very pleased as I have not done any jogging for quite some time now. :) Happy times. So now I can add it in more and more to my treadmill workouts.
Right - now to get into the housework so I can enjoy the afternoon.
