More Painting!!

The home is looking good. Coming together and this weekend was a busy one!

Friday morning I got in 40min of cardio on the treadmill. Still not getting the sleep that I need. Working on it - getting a solid 7 hours, need to squeak in one more!

Saturday I had the hubby working overtime building up our new bookshelves. I did some digging at the salvation army stores for some interesting picture frames. I brought them home for a song and painted them all back. They accompanied the rest of the frames i had and I completed the hall pictures hanging. Feels so good to get that kind of stuff done.

New shelves are up - husbands new desk is up - all the stuff is in boxes, so books need replacing. But the thinning is good.

This morning we got up at 8 and went for a walk, this afternoon I was over helping a friend paint her dining room. I'm beat!

I've not jumped on the scale anytime this month(?). Clothes are feeling slightly looser, but I'm afraid that whatever number I would see would really eff me in the head. No loss - why bother - big loss - time for a treat. You know. Classic self sabotage.

SO for now - I'm busy and active and I'm not pulling the scale out to see what is happening.

Right! Time to get to bed early. Sheets need to go in the drier if that's going to happen so off I goooooo!!!!!

Painting Weekend!

I know that its past ... a few days ago now. but the end of last week and the start of this week were full to overflowing.

Friday - cardio done. It was a hard one. I've been going to bed a leeeeetle bit later and later... not good.

Sat/Sunday - Paintapolooza

WOW... painting, taping, edging, painting, taping... moving furniture. We redid our whole living room and hall. Top to bottom. All the walls, the baseboards, the doors, the window frames. It was a massive amount of work - back and forth to the hardware store.

Needless to say, I could hardly walk on Monday and Tuesday.

This morning I managed to get up at 6 and get to the gym. But I'm bagged now. Totally Bagged. In fact, its time for bed now!

Will have to catch up on my blog perving another night.

Weekend...coming up!

Wednesday I pulled myself out of bed and got to the gym for my cardio. My back is feeling better - but not 100%. I think I strained something. I am going to stick with just my cardio this next week and see how it goes. I don't think that I did anything too horrible.

Just the usual. Fat and out of shape + pver exhursion = ouchy

I have had 2 nights of poor sleep. Its 9pm and I'm heading to bed in about 30min. Read, relax and rest.

Tomorrow is cardio in the am.

Keep Calm and Carry on

Monday - got up and did my cardio. I was still sore from Saturday weights, but feeling better. I over did it for sure and I'm paying the price. No serious damage, but lower back pain and stiffness to the max.
omg...does anyone ever say "to the max" anymore or am I still living in the dark ages? I typed that and thought... damn that is ooooooold.

I went to bed at 10 on Monday night, and slept late on Tuesday morning. I woke up and just felt that I needed the rest. So I took it. I felt a lot better today - more alert.

I'm about to go to bed now, and hope to have the lights out at 10.30. I'm up for my cardio tomorrow at 5.55am so going to aim for 45min.

I'm REALLY struggling with water this last couple weeks. I KNOW I need more. Just trying to get it in is a struggle. Food this week is going to be much better. There is a no dinner out policy in place this week. Monday and Tuesday dinners were a success. I have a work luncheon out tomorrow, however I've looked at the menu and there are lots of great salad options that I will pick from.
Tomorrow I'm going to aim for 2.5l of water at the office. That should do me!
Thank you all for your comments. I am keeping calm and carrying on. I can not stop, or yes... I would have gained 100+. I keep wishing that there was a way that I could just fix this - magic wand style. I know there there isn't so ..... here I am! Trying to make it work.
I gave a friend who is struggling job wise some really good advice, now I need to take it as well.

Annnnnnnd now I know why I've been avoiding it. The reality is that in the 10 months that I've been in Texas I have gained over 20lbs.

There you have it. Almost 2 years and I have gained straight back to where I started. Sadly, I was a lot lighter then, than I am now. So that tells me not only have I gained fat, but that I have lost muscle.

I was winging and moaning to the husband about my body the other day. He loves me - every inch and each lump and bump. But damn it... its hard to feel good some days.

Does anyone else out there have that strange things where one day you look in the mirror and see good - the next you see the fattest blob to walk the planet? I know that its perspective, but its really very crushing.

I want to stop and give up and lay down and stuff my face with chips. I'm not. I'm going to keep going and get my gym in and keep moving along. I know that the problem is one thing.....


or rather... lack of willpower around food. I don't understand why I can hate my situation SO MUCH, yet not make the changes to improve it??



I'm tired!!

Wednesday was the tide turning in terms of sleep. I was sawing logs 15seconds after the light was out according to the hubby, as I don't even remember the light going out! haha We didn't get up to go to the gym on Thursday, we slept another 30min and then continued on with the day. I needed it!

Friday morning we were up and did the Friday cardio. I worked harder then I have in a while - so I guess the day of rest before did some good.

I'm happy that I'm more tired at night, and starting to want to sleep sooner. Getting up at 6 is also getting easier! Next week we are going to aim for 45min at the gym in the am. Fingers crossed. The habit is getting set.

This morning I woke naturally at 6.30 and we dozed for another hour in bed. Felt really luxurious. haha How funny as I would have typically slept until 10.

9am today, I had a weight session and we worked HARD!!! OMG and outside here. Holy crap it was HOT HOT HOT! I was drenched and I'm still thirsty. Must get some more water in me right now.

came home - long bath....read in bed. Just getting ready for some dinner and an evening of crafting I think. :)

Weekend is great thus far and should be even better when I get a good nights sleep this evening.

Point form...as I am tired!

  • still fat...? what...after a week?? haha
  • sporting day - I played around with some heavy implements for the highland games and spent 2.5hours in the baking TX sun getting SUPER dehydrated. Whoa... I've never NEEDED Gatorade like that before.
  • v.tired that night
  • resting!
  • Cardio day ... did it!
  • Week 2 of 5x a week started well.
  • feeling pretty good actually
  • Weights - High Clean pulls 3 x 6 x 65lbs
  • Front Squats 3 x 6 x 65lbs
  • Military press 3 x 8 x 25lb dumbbells
  • just looked...still fat! ;)

Working out in the mornings has been really nice to be honest. I'm feeling more alert in the day and I like the fact that I can plan a relaxing or interesting evening without worrying about fitting in exercise.

I'm hitting the limit for low sleep... I'm hoping that this week I will transition into 10.30 bedtimes instead of 11.30/12.... come on body... you know I'm getting you up early... fall asleep!!!

Incline bench press 3 x 6 reps - 30lbs db
1 arm bent over row 3 x 7 reps - 40lbs db
rotator cuff turns 3 x 10 reps - 5lbs db

Feeling a lot better today. The butt is not sore anymore, legs were feeling better and all that lactic acid was out out out.

Food wise - the last couple days have been good to okay. We are starting to spiral out of control on eating out again and today makes day three for dinner out. Which is not good. We need to stop that.

have to get to bed early - I didn't sleep well last night. Need to get my zzzzz's!!

Today was 30min cardio. Did really well - I wasn't too sore from yesterdays weights...until about 10am this morning!

I should have NOT worn heels to the office today. Ouchy! My butt, my arms... I'm taking a couple ibuprofen and going to bed.

Friday Monday

This weekend I spent a fair amount of time walking around - but didn't do a great job with the eating.

Friday I did go to the gym and get in my first full week completed of cardio. I am happy to announce that I got up this Monday and went as well. However the time is slipping back ever so slightly each day - so I need to get that under check if I want to get in a full workout.

The Hubby and I have actually been enjoying the mornings up and wake and energized. I slept poorly last night though - so I'm sucking hind teat today. I'm going to be in bed and rest before 9 and asleep at 10.45.. of at least this is the plan.

There is also another new plan. Since we are enjoying the mornings and I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE coming home after work and knowing that all the exercise of the day is done. We are going to do this.

M/W/F - cardio
T/Th - weights. 3 exercises, 3 sets of 10 reps. That should do it for time in the morning and add in the weights that we wanted.

And will leave our weekends free to enjoy ourselves without worrying about trying to fit in a gym session if we are busy.

Tomorrow is weights day one.

1 arm dumbbell snatch
Suitcase Walk
weighted split jumps

That should leave my legs suitabley abused for tomorrow at the office! :)
